She moved into a rooming house occupied by Hal Carter, Barbie and Ken, Zelda and Chantal, and Fiddler's Green, who'd escaped from the Dreaming during the time Morpheus was imprisoned and was going by the alias Gilbert. In 1989 Miranda and Rose traveled to England to meet Unity, and a week later Rose returned to America to find her little brother, so he could meet their grandmother, too. Rose also unknowingly possessed the trait of the " Dream Vortex" through her grandmother, Unity Kinkaid. The Walkers weren't even notified when three years later Burt died in a car crash, and they lost track of Jed. The two were estranged, as in 1982 her father had taken Jed when he left Miranda and moved to Florida. Rose was born in 1968 to Miranda Walker and Burt Paulsen and spent her early years in New Jersey.
