Mia admits at one point that she is a virgin, but knows that Adam is not. Mia says her family went to church “sometimes” and has nothing against “religion.” The preacher said that Kerry was getting his “heavenly reward” and “walking with Jesus.” This upsets Mia’s mom.
Mia mocks the funeral because Kerry, her parents’ friend, was an atheist. Mia recalls a funeral of a friend of her parents. It’s up to me.” Mia begins to feel confused and decides she needs to leave things up to “fate” or the doctors. Mia says that angels are “absentee angels” and God “If he exists, is nowhere around right now. Mia, in her semi-dead state, can see people observing the family dead or dying.
